Underneath the Layers

The art of self compassion.

We often tend to get so wrapped up in the different layers of the self and what we should be doing . Self care and the skin care routines, working out and keeping fit, constant "productivity". Though these things are undoubtedly beneficial and necessary for us, sometimes we neglect an element so simple and yet so powerful in our lives.

Self compassion.

One of the most valuable things that we can do for ourselves, is be kind. It doesn't take a lot to challenge that little voice inside your head and tell yourself "I am doing enough", here and there. Or to look at yourself in the mirror in the morning, and think, "I am proud of myself- who I am and how far I've come."

Not every moment of life has to be so competitive and intense. It doesn't always have to be about pushing yourself to do that run every day or tick off everything on your to-do list. Sometimes, it's okay to just take a step back and be proud of yourself in the moment.

No- one's life is free of hardship. Whatever your struggle is, however small or large- everyone has them. And so it is so important to stop and be kind to yourself. That act of self-compassion can really make a difference in the way that you deal with things.

You are a vessel of love, allow the light of that love to be within you and not just reflected on to everybody else. It is important to fill yourself up with kindness not only feeling that from those around you.

When you make a mistake, as well as when you do good- be kind to yourself. Because you deserve it.
